Venture capital has a diversity problem . BLCK VC , a new organization founded by Storm Ventures associate Frederik Groce and NEA associate Sydney Sykes to connect, engage and advance black venture capitalists, is ready for a new era in the industry. Their mission: Turn 200 black investors into 400 black investors by 2024. “We think of ourselves as an organization formed by black VCs for blacks VCs to increase the representation of black investors,” Sykes told TechCrunch. “You can look around and say well ‘I know five black VCs,’ but you can also say this firm does not have a single black VC, they may not even have a single underrepresented minority … We want to make firms reckon with the fact that there is a racial diversity problem; there is a lack of black VCs and every firm should really care about it.” BLCK VC has been at work since the beginning of 2018, building and expanding a network of black investors in the San Francisco area, Los Angeles and New York. Folarin Falana popularly known as (falz the bahd guy) is one of Nigerian cosmic artist, rapper, songwriter, and actor, born on 27th October 1990 in Lagos, south-western Nigeria to a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi and Funmi Falana. He completed his elementary and secondary education at St. Leo’s Catholic primary school Ikeja and Olashore International School Osun State respectively. He also graduated from the University of Reading with LLB honors in Law.

His musical career began in secondary school when they formed a group called “The School Boys” with his friends before his professional career began in 2009. While in secondary school he released his mixtape titled Shakara:The Mixtape. He came into the spotlight with song tittled "Marry Me" featuring Poe and Yemi Alade which got him a nomination for the “Best Collaboration of the Year”category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Falz released his first studio album on May 30 2014 titled "Wazup Guy" which received critical acclaims among music critics. On November 17 2015 he released his second studio album titled Stories That Touch.
