81% of VC firms don’t have a single black investor — BLCK VC plans on changing that

Venture capital has a diversity problem . BLCK VC , a new organization founded by Storm Ventures associate Frederik Groce and NEA associate Sydney Sykes to connect, engage and advance black venture capitalists, is ready for a new era in the industry. Their mission: Turn 200 black investors into 400 black investors by 2024. “We think of ourselves as an organization formed by black VCs for blacks VCs to increase the representation of black investors,” Sykes told TechCrunch. “You can look around and say well ‘I know five black VCs,’ but you can also say this firm does not have a single black VC, they may not even have a single underrepresented minority … We want to make firms reckon with the fact that there is a racial diversity problem; there is a lack of black VCs and every firm should really care about it.” BLCK VC has been at work since the beginning of 2018, building and expanding a network of black investors in the San Francisco area, Los Angeles and New York. Flavour N'abania: Biography and Lifestyle

Chinedu  Okoli  popularly known as (Flavour or Flavour N’abania) is a Nigerian Highlife singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and performer. Born on 23th  November 1983 in Enugu State Eastern part of Nigeria, His family is originally from Umunze in Orumba South LGA, Anambra state, Nigeria. He is the first son of a family of four sibling and seven step siblings.

Flavour started his musical career at the age of 13 playing drums for his church choir in Enugu; the pastor at his church introduced him to the CEO of Sound city communication Mr. Chris I Odor. Mr. Odor had just started a musical company that trains young musicians on the basic level up to a professional level. Flavour gained recognition at the age of 19 as a drummer and pianist for a local Band in Enugu, He later got an offer to perform at city center Enugu, the huge number of crowds at city center inspired him to reach greater heights, although his family wasn’t very fond of his musical ambitions especially his mother who believed the musical ambition won’t amount to anything.

The album “Uplifted” was a breakthrough for flavor making him popularly known across Africa and the world. He became one of the most sought out artist following the release of the album and was booked to perform at numerous concerts and social events. He is also well known for his ability to sing fluently in Igbo language.

Flavour has been on the topnotch since he came to the limelight, he has collaborated with Artist like M.I, Chidinma, Phyno, Psquare, Wande Coal and many more. Flavour is one of the most rated celebrities in Africa as 2014 to 2016.

Flavour currently leaves in Lagos and has a daughter with Ex-beauty queen and actress Anna Ebiere Banner named Sophia and another with Sandra Okagbue named Gabrielle.
