81% of VC firms don’t have a single black investor — BLCK VC plans on changing that

Venture capital has a diversity problem . BLCK VC , a new organization founded by Storm Ventures associate Frederik Groce and NEA associate Sydney Sykes to connect, engage and advance black venture capitalists, is ready for a new era in the industry. Their mission: Turn 200 black investors into 400 black investors by 2024. “We think of ourselves as an organization formed by black VCs for blacks VCs to increase the representation of black investors,” Sykes told TechCrunch. “You can look around and say well ‘I know five black VCs,’ but you can also say this firm does not have a single black VC, they may not even have a single underrepresented minority … We want to make firms reckon with the fact that there is a racial diversity problem; there is a lack of black VCs and every firm should really care about it.” BLCK VC has been at work since the beginning of 2018, building and expanding a network of black investors in the San Francisco area, Los Angeles and New York. Chibuzor Nelson Azubike Popularly known as PHYNO is a Nigeria rapper, Singer, songwriter and record producer, born on 9th October 1986 in Enugu state. He hails from Anambra state.

Phyno received his secondary education in Enugu and later went to earn a degree in public administration at the institute of Management and Technology Enugu.

The superstar started his musical career as a producer in 2003. As a producer he has work with Timaya, Flavour, Illbliss, Ruggedman, Mr. Raw J martins and many others.

Phyno own a ₦70 Million naira mansion in Enugu and  ₦168 Million naira duplex at Chevy view Estate, Lekki in Lagos. the super star have a couple of costly cars which includes ₦28 Million naira Bentley GT Coup'e

In august 2014 Phyno signed an ambassadorship for Guinness Nigeria for made of Black Campaign alongside Olamide.

In 2015 he banged another deal with Nairabet. Later in the year he signed a 50 Million Naira deal Airtel Nigeria.

In earlier 2017 Phyno had declared to his 2m fans on instagram that he is now latest brand ambassador for the Nigeria Telecom giant Globacom. He is now the latest addition to the long list of celebrity ambassador with Glo, although there are no Official photos of the brand endorsement yet.

He later bangs a ₦50 Million deal with Telecom giant Etisalat now 9mobile.

The super star in 2015 signed a multi-million Naira deal with Surebet. In 2017 he signed a deal with Stering Bank Plc.
