81% of VC firms don’t have a single black investor — BLCK VC plans on changing that

Venture capital has a diversity problem . BLCK VC , a new organization founded by Storm Ventures associate Frederik Groce and NEA associate Sydney Sykes to connect, engage and advance black venture capitalists, is ready for a new era in the industry. Popular Nigerian actor, producer, and director Femi Adebayo were born on 31 December 1974. He is the son of veteran actor Salami Adebayo. Although he was born in Lagos state the actor is from Ilorin, Kwara State. He bagged a bachelor’s degree from the University of Ilorin where he studied Law before obtaining a master’s degree in Theatre Arts from the same institution.

He kicked started his acting career in 1995 when he featured in “Owo Blow” a Tade Ogidan movie. The actor has since risen to fame playing major roles in English and Yoruba movies which includes Kunle Afolayan award-winning October 1, Ayitale, Anini, Alagbaa, Omo University among numerous others.

The actor has won numerous awards and accolades notable among them include best Yoruba actor at the 17th African Film Awards which is also known as the Afro Hollywood Awards held at the Stratford Town Hall in London. Rumour has it that the reason for the separation was because of an affair the actor had with popular Yoruba/English actress Funke Akindele “Jenifa” but they both denied the rumors. The couple was living in separate apartments before filling for a divorce in a law court in Ilorin the same court Femi married his new wife in.

After the divorce, Femi was a lonely man and needed companionship like every grown-up man will need and in October 2016 the actor tied the knots with Omotayo Memunat Sanusi eight years after the divorce to his first wife. Femi’s new wife worked as an air hostess before starting her own business a Cafe in the heart of Lagos which makes it possible for her to support herself and her family. According to the actor, he enjoys love and support from his new wife which give him the desired motivation he needs to stay focused on his successful acting career.
