Venture capital has a diversity problem . BLCK VC , a new organization founded by Storm Ventures associate Frederik Groce and NEA associate Sydney Sykes to connect, engage and advance black venture capitalists, is ready for a new era in the industry. Their mission: Turn 200 black investors into 400 black investors by 2024. “We think of ourselves as an organization formed by black VCs for blacks VCs to increase the representation of black investors,” Sykes told TechCrunch. “You can look around and say well ‘I know five black VCs,’ but you can also say this firm does not have a single black VC, they may not even have a single underrepresented minority … We want to make firms reckon with the fact that there is a racial diversity problem; there is a lack of black VCs and every firm should really care about it.” BLCK VC has been at work since the beginning of 2018, building and expanding a network of black investors in the San Francisco area, Los Angeles and New York. Admission Requirements


Candidate for admission into the undergraduate programmes needs the following requirements.

UTME (100 Level)



  • Applicant must be at least 16 year of age before he/she will be eligible

  • Must meet the necessary departmental requirements

  • In addition to the general UME admission requirements of Five(5) SSCE/WASSCE/GCE/NECO or equivalent credit passes at not more than two(2) sittings which must include English, Mathematics and Chemistry and two other related Courses.


Direct Entry Requirements



  • Candidate with HSC/GCE ‘A’ level passes in the relevant science subjects may be admitted into 300 level of the chosen programme.

  • Candidate with HND upper credit in relevant discipline may be admitted into 300 level

  • Candidate with OND upper credit in relevant discipline may be admitted into 200 level

  • NCE holders with 2 credit /one credit passes may be admitted into 200 level/100 level respectively.


NOTE:  All (DE) Applicants must possess UME requirement before he/she maybe admitted.

Post Graduate (PG) Requirements


Candidate seeking admission into PG at the University should possess the following requirements

  • Must be graduates of the University of Agriculture Makudi or any other recognized University with bachelor’s degree in relevant areas.

  • Holders of higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent with minimum of credit passes or equivalent in relevant areas from recognized University.

  • Five (5) SSCE/WASC/GCE/NECO or equivalent credit passes at not more than two sittings
