81% of VC firms don’t have a single black investor — BLCK VC plans on changing that

Venture capital has a diversity problem . BLCK VC , a new organization founded by Storm Ventures associate Frederik Groce and NEA associate Sydney Sykes to connect, engage and advance black venture capitalists, is ready for a new era in the industry. Their mission: Turn 200 black investors into 400 black investors by 2024. “We think of ourselves as an organization formed by black VCs for blacks VCs to increase the representation of black investors,” Sykes told TechCrunch. “You can look around and say well ‘I know five black VCs,’ but you can also say this firm does not have a single black VC, they may not even have a single underrepresented minority … We want to make firms reckon with the fact that there is a racial diversity problem; there is a lack of black VCs and every firm should really care about it.” BLCK VC has been at work since the beginning of 2018, building and expanding a network of black investors in the San Francisco area, Los Angeles and New York. Brief History


Federal University Wukari Formation was led by the President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011, following the Establishment of 12 new University Nationwide on the basis of equity and access.

The Wukari Campus of the Taraba State Polytechnic, housing the School of Administration and Business Studies was donated by the State Government to the Federal Government for the take-off of the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State. The formal introduction of Prof. O. Geoffrey Okogbaa, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University to the State Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Pharm. Saidu Danfulani Danbaba, took place on Monday 14 March 2011 in the Government House at Jalingo, the Taraba State capital. The Minister was accompanied by the Minister of State, FME, Director (Tertiary Education) FME, the Executive Secretaries of NUC and ETF.

Admission Requirements


Admission requirements through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

Candidate seeking Provisional Admission at the institution must satisfy the following Requirements


  1. Minimum of Credit passes in Five (5) subjects including English Language at SSCE, GCE O'Level and any other equivalent examinations.
    2. UTME scores of at least 180 and above
    4. In addition to the above, candidates must make Federal University Oye-Ekiti 1st or 2nd choice to qualify to write the Post-UTME Screening Test.     


Note: Candidate must be 16 year of age before he/she can be admitted
